Understanding -Support-Hope

Many older adults live with chronic pain every day. Unfortunately, pain is sometimes minimized or dismissed as ” just part of getting older”.
While aches and stiffness may become common with age.
Ongoing pain should never simply be ignored or accepted without discussion.
Chronic Pain can affect sleep, walking, energy, mood, independence, and enjoyment of everyday life. I may come from arthritis, back problems, nerve conditions, old injuries, or other medical concerns. For some seniors the pain is visible. For others, it may be hidden behind a smile or quiet endurance.
The good news is that help is available. Today, healthcare providers have many ways to help manage pain safely and improve quality of life. Treatment may include medication, physical therapy, exercise, improve sleep habits ,stress reduction, assistive devices, or other supportive approaches.
Keeping a simple pain log can also help your doctor better understand what you are experiencing. I recently created a large-Print “Seniors Medication & Health Tracker” designed to help seniors and caregivers. Available on Paypal. https://payhip.com/SeniorMedicationHealthTrackerLargePrintPDF
Most importantly, remember this: Pain should not automatically be considered an expected or unavoidable part of aging.
You deserve to be heard, supported, and treated with respect.
